Who else is so happy spring is finally here?! The weather here has been lovely. I hope your weather has been lovely, too!

The other day my hubby called me and asked if I wanted to plant some flowers near our front walkway. I headed to Home Depot and found some ranunculus. Ranunculus are my most favorite flowers EVER! They are sooooo pretty. They make me smile every time I walk by them! I hope they will survive our summers here.

We had a wonderful Easter! My kids enjoyed their Easter egg hunt. It was my little guy’s first hunt and he was very excited about all the “tandy.”

We went to church on Sunday morning in our new Easter outfits and then came home and made a yummy dinner of honey ham, crash hot potatoes, carrots, rolls, and my fave dark chocolate cake. My sister, her husband, and their new baby came to spend the afternoon with us. It was a beautiful Easter Sunday!

That’s my handome man. Everyone tell him to shave his beard! lol! He is going on a “Mountain Man Rendez-Vous” in June and he’s growing his beard until then. He’s gonna look scary by the time June comes around! I don’t think he’s ever let a beard grow out for that long!

My man grabbed the camera and got a shot of me with my kids. I rarely get to be in the photos since I’m the family photographer. By the way, isn’t my dress absolutely FABULOUS?! If you haven’t heard of JUNIEblake yet, you need to check them out! They make fashion-forward dresses that are modest. AND the designers of JUNIEblake live local, so I actually know one of the designers. Pretty darn cool. I adore this dress! This is the Ardene. It is SO comfy and covers everything I want covered, and it’s very flattering. Plus, it’s got my fave colors. ;) It even covers my knees and that’s a pretty big deal. Almost every knee-length dress hits above my knees and it’s very frustrating! Tall girl problems. *sigh* ;)

Now we’re prepping for our trip to DISNEYLAND! We’re going near the end of the month and I think I’m just as excited as my 5-year-old…. perhaps MORE excited than her. This will be our FIRST real family vacation. My daughter is at the perfect age for it and she talks about it every day. She wants to meet the princesses and Flynn Rider. I bought her 2 princess dresses to wear in the park. I just want it to be the most magical experience for her because the next time we go, she’ll likely be at an age where it’s not quite as magical.

We made a fun countdown Mickey Mouse chain so she can always see how much time we’ve got left until our trip. She loves taking off a link of the chain each morning and counting the remaining links.

I wish this was my original idea, but it’s not. I got the idea from here.

I also made a ruffled Minnie Mouse tee for her for the trip! A tee shirt + pre-made ruffle from Walmart’s sewing section + some Fabric Fusion glue were all I needed! I stole the idea from here.

I can’t wait to share our trip with you! What are you doing this spring?

This isn’t even remotely related to scrapping, but I know a lot of my followers share a love for modest clothing, so I wanted to share! Lime Ricki has amazing modest swim suits and I’ve been buying from them for 3 years now. Their suits from last season are on sale and they just sent out a coupon code for an additional 60% off the sale prices! That makes tankini tops $7.98 each and bottoms $4.78 each. That is a CRAZY deal and the suits are very high quality (I have 3 and just ordered 2 more)!! I’m not affiliated with them in any way… I just wanted to share because I love their suits so much! The sizes are going fast, so if you want one, don’t hesitate! The coupon code expires on Sunday, Feb 3rd. All sales are final on sale items, so check their size chart before ordering. For reference, I am 5’9″, a size 6-8, C cup, and shirt size medium most places I shop. I order a medium in the tops and bottoms and they fit me perfectly! I ADORE their boy shorts. I hate bikini bottoms!

Use coupon code SALE60 at checkout to save 60% on sale items (Parker Barker line is excluded).

I just LOVE when I get to try a new clothing line that helps me stay cute while dressing modestly! The folks over at Halftee asked if I could review one of their pieces. I had never tried a Halftee before, but I have friends who have and raved about them.

I was sent the 3/4 Halftee in black. (They also have tank, cap sleeve, half sleeve, and long sleeve versions)

The concept is completely genius…

Living in AZ, it gets HOT! I often layer camis under low-cut shirts or throw cardigans over sleeveless tops. This KILLS me in the summer. With a Halftee, I can get a higher neckline and/or add sleeves with a lot less heat and bulk. The tee stops just below my bra. Sometimes my camis will ride up under my top and it gets super annoying. There isn’t that problem with these Halftees.

I wore it to church last Sunday under a very low-cut black dress. Have you ever worn a cami under a dress and become completely annoyed with the noticeable line it leaves around your hips or had to bother with it rolling up under your dress and making an ugly bulge? Since this tee stops below the bust, I didn’t worry about the nasty roll. This Halftee is also incredibly soft and comfortable! They are very stretchy, too. I got a size medium… but if I asked for a small, I’m pretty sure it would have worked just fine, too!

I loved the Halftee under my dress and today I wore it under my new, pretty, sparkly tank. It looks pretty awesome, right?! It’s nice to have a different alternative to a cardigan for adding sleeves… and besides, it’s still pretty warm during the afternoon here in the desert – even in the fall. :) I look pretty excited about it, huh? hehe

So nifty. I must have mooooooore! :D I love that these Halftees will be so versatile and I know they will become a staple in my wardrobe!

Give them a try with a coupon code just for my awesome readers! Use coupon code designsbymegan10% at checkout to save 10% off your Halftee order.

Have you tried them yet? I’d love to hear how you love the other styles. :)

GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED! Congrats to Janneke for winning the giveaway! You have an email from me to claim your prize. :)

DownEast Basics asked me to do another review for their new July line of clothing. Each new line they come out with lots of gorgeous stuff and this line is no exception! I received the Boho Beauty Cami in Mineral Blue to review.

My stuff always comes super quickly from DownEast. I had it in like 3 days. Since this cami has a loose fit around the bottom, I knew I’d probably need to size down. In their more fitted tops I am a medium, but I decided to get the small in this cami and I’m glad I did because it fit perfectly! My hubby is such a good sport to take these photos for me when I do these reviews… hehe…

I love the detail on the front and the smocking on the back (helps pull in the waistline just a bit so it doesn’t look huge around the waist). I also like the loose fit around the hips. It’s perfect for when I need to hide those 8 lbs I gained in like 2 months due to working at my desk and eating too much chocolate. ;) I paired it with my cropped cardigan to make it modest.

Super cute, right?!

Now how would you like a chance to win an item of your choice from DownEast Basics? One lucky winner will get any one item from their shop. Here are some of my faves…

This crochet lace cardigan is beautiful!!

I just adore the style of their Travel Time Tunic.

The pretty vintage-y print on this skirt is calling me…

Here’s another skirt I love…

I really, truly believe that “modest is hottest.” I am super thankful that there are so many modest clothing lines these days that cater to those of us who want to still look CUTE, yet stay covered. It was HARD finding cute clothes when I was a teen, but that is no longer a problem for me.

Well today I have a newer-to-me clothing line to introduce to you: Mikarose. They specialize in modest dresses, tops, and skirts. I was contacted by Mikarose to review one of their dresses. They sent me the Ashley dress, a lovely dress with half-sleeves and a super cute hemline. Check me out!

I wore this dress to church yesterday. Usually when I come home from church, I immediately kick off my heels and change into jeans and a tee shirt. I DID kick off my heels, but I left the dress on. It is – NO LIE – the comfiest dress I have ever owned. It is sooooo super soft. Like buttah. :P About an hour after church I told my hubby I was tired, so he told me he’d watch the kids and I could go nap. I kid you not, I left the dress on for my nap. I TOLD YOU it was comfy!

I also love that the dress is completely modest on its own and it doesn’t need any camis or cover-ups. I hate having to add camis to clothes because I live in the Arizona desert and when it’s 112 degrees outside, the last thing I need is more layers!

The dress isn’t quite as adorable on me as on their model, but then again… I’m not a size 2 and my – ahem – chest is much larger than hers. Oh and I’m just not as cute as her. *giggles* The only thing I wish were different about the dress is that the sleeves were a bit slimmer like in their photo on their site. Here is their photo, for reference:

I love it! LOVE IT! Wanna see a few more pieces from their site? This one, the Bailey, is my FAVE! I love those buttons!
