Free photobooks?

Monday, June 30th, 2008

A couple weeks back I signed up for an account at Artscow.com. I received credit for one free 30-page, 8×8″ photobook. Then I got an email with a coupon code for 10 more free books! Also, the email gave me a code to get $8 shipping on 2 of those books. They are a new site and I hadn’t heard about their print quality. Today, someone at SSD posted that she lvoed her book and she thought the quality was good. So, just thought I’d share with you and maybe you might want to sign up! ;) These books don’t all expire soon. All are available to order tomorrow, but 2 expire in July, 2 in August, 3 in September, 3 in October, and 1 in December. Perfect timing for me because I’m in the middle of putting together a scrapbook for my grandparents and some of my aunts and uncles would like one. I will be ordering next week and will report back how I like the quality. I have printed with Shutterfly so it would be interesting to see how they compare. Other sites I’d like to try are MyPicTales and Viovio. I really love that MyPicTales offers a 10×10″ book with a photo cover (Viovio’s 10×10 does not have a photo cover). I think a 10″ book is the perfect size! 8×8’s are smaller than I’d like and I think 12×12’s are too big.

My blog is so sad…. no LO’s for a while. Sorry. I have a cyst on my right wrist that has been quite painful and I had to take a little break from PSE to let it get a little better. I did a board book a few days ago and I am soooo excited about how it turned out! It is my fave hybrid to date! I will be here to show you tomorrow since I have to wait for my post on the Girl Talk blog. ;)

Yup, it’s that time again…

…time for another “From Our Blog To Yours” post from SSD! So, what was my favorite birthday year? Hmmm…. that’s a tough one. Birthdays are never too exciting for me. Sometimes I feel a little bummed. But my 20th b-day was really fun!! Tyrel and I had been married two months and were loving the married life (and still are, of course!)! We went camping and even managed to get lost on our way there! LOL! Everything’s fun when you’re newlyweds. :) Then we came home and just hung out. That year was pretty fun altogether! It wasn’t easy, but it was great! A lot of adjustments and learning on my part. But it seemed that each and every day we grew closer together. I love him! He is so awesome. ;)

Oh, and there’s a sneaky peeky up at the Girl Talk Blog of Dani’s new 4th of July kit! It is gorgeous! I love it!!! It will be out Saturday at SSD. 20% off on Saturday only and you’ll get the coordinating star album QPs free.

SSD Sweet Rewards

Wednesday, June 25th, 2008

So, I’m sure you’ve noticed how I’m constantly mentioning Sweet Shoppe Designs’ sweet rewards points. I decided I needed to tell y’all how it works so you can start racking up the points to earn yourselves some awesome discounts!! First, visit the Sweet Rewards FAQs.

Here’s a quick summary of how it works: you participate in challenges to earn points. The more points you earn, the larger the discount you’ll get.

10-19 points= 20% discount
20-29 points= 30% discount
30+ points= 40% discount
Everyone who earns 10+ points will get 25% off chipboard albums in their store.
You will get a coupon code after the end of the month and will be able to use it over the period of one week.

Earn one point for:
Each SSD Forum Challenge Completed eligible that month;
Scraplifting our Treat of the Month;
Each LO done for the Spin-A-Lift Challenge on the Sweet Shoppe Blog;
A challenge LO that has something from that week’s New Releases (also includes freebies given out at chats, please note in credits, and gifts w/purchase items);
Participating in our From Our Blog to Your Blog Posts; and
Being Chosen as a Sweet Standout in the SSD Blog.

3 points for:
Having your project showcased on the Sweet Keepsakes Spotlight

You DO NOT have to use SSD products to participate in challenges (if the LO isn’t for a challenge it does need something from SSD to be placed in their gallery). You must post your project in their gallery according to the directions on each challenge thread. It isn’t hard at all to earn 10 points. There is a From Our Blog To Yours post every Thursday on the SSD blog, so if you participate in that you’ll earn 4 points. Then maybe do the Shutterbug Shakedown Challenge… you only need to take a picture and don’t have to scrap it (but will earn an extra point if you scrap it). It doesn’t matter if you are not a good photographer!! There is a Shutterbug Challenge every week, so if all you do is take the pics, that’s another 4 points! Scrap two of those photos and earn another 2 points! Already 10 points right there! A really popular challenge is Cookie Decorating 101. It’s a fun way to get scrappin’! And easy too since you get a free template for it! :) You do earn an extra point for each challenge LO that uses a new release. I am on two teams for designers that sell at SSD, so that’s easy for me since I get the products free. But, you don’t have to use new releases to rack up some points (although it will require more work if you don’t).

I have 28 points right now. I scrapped A LOT this month!! But I also made 2 gallery standouts and a Sweet Keepsakes Spotlight on the SSD blog, so I earned an extra 5 points that way. FYI: it’s more likely you’ll get your project pulled onto the blog to earn extra points if it’s a hybrid!

SSD is a way fun community! I love it there! Everyone is so nice. So don’t be afraid to jump right in and participate (and earn some points while you’re at it!!).

You could win a free kit!

Sunday, June 22nd, 2008

Hey! Just popping in real quick to tell you about a fun little contest on the GG Digital Designs Blog! There are previews up of the new kit for next month (there are really two, one girl and one boy version). All you have to do is go leave a comment and guess the name of the kit! If you guess the name correctly, you win the girl or boy kit (your choice) plus the coordinating mini album QPs! Fun stuff!! :)

Oh, and there are brand spankin’ new Pea fonts up at Fonts for Peas!! They were added a few days ago. I LOVE these fonts and use one of them on nearly every LO I make these days. Everytime new fonts are added I get a new favorite! Go get ‘em!!

Don’t forget about that wonderful charity kit I blogged about a few days ago! I still need to go pick it up myself. Bad Megan! :P

How could I forget?!?!

Thursday, June 19th, 2008

Sheesh. Where is my brain these days?!?! I was very excited to see not one, but two projects of mine in this month’s issue of Bella Scraps Magazine!! My “Beautiful Girl” LO and baby shower invite that I made for my SIL’s shower were published! YAY!!

And I forgot to add these pages and hybrids to my last post. I’d rather not go back and edit that last post because adding images to posts messes up the spacing. It’s annoying!!!

This second CD album was for my dad.
