Eeeeee! I had so much fun making these mini buckets! They turned out mighty cute, if I do say so myself!! Every year for Halloween, I like to make Frankenstein cupcakes… I use green ice cream cones and bake the cupcakes in those… then I frost the top with chocolate frosting and make a little face on the cone with black icing and add little bolts made of candy to the sides! Sooooo, when I saw these little mini buckets at Target, I immediately thought of those cupcakes and thought a Frankenbucket would be adorable!
I always stop at the $1 section at Target… I’ve found some good hybrid material there. Right now they have these little buckets there in Halloween colors. They are about 3 inches tall and come in sets of two for one buck!! They also sell some larger single buckets in other colors.

Digital product used:
Orange polka dot paper from Dani Mogstad’s Happy Haunting kit
Green paper from Dani Mogstad’s Prehistoric kit from Sweet Shoppe Designs or Design by Dani
Crafting supplies: adhesive spray, hot glue gun, buttons, brads, alpha beads, ribbon, permanent marker
So…. I printed two of my papers out as 8×4 strips on one 8×8 canvas. Then I made a really crude template with paper and used that to cut my printed paper. I even went the extra mile and made a template for YOU to make your life lots easier should you want to decorate some of these cutie patootie buckets!
It is not a perfect template, but it’s close enough. I made this template to reach right up to just below the handle. I decided not to mess with cutting holes around the handle and just attached some ribbon where the paper ended. YOU CAN DOWNLOAD THE TEMPLATE HERE!!!! 4 Shared always screws up the preview for PNG files…. don’t worry.. it doesn’t really look like that! This is meant to fit only the mini buckets (3 in tall) from Target so if you pick up different buckets this template probably won’t work.
So, once I cut out my papers, I went outside and sprayed the back of the paper with some adhesive spray (craft bond) and quickly wrapped the paper around the bucket, making sure to get the paper pressed hard up against the sides of the bucket. When you use adhesive spray, I recommend going outside and protecting the ground with some paper or doing it in a box… the over spray is tacky even after it dries.
Then I decorated! The Frankenbucket’s eyes are made of buttons and black brads. I broke off the prongs on the brads so I could glue them on the buttons with hot glue. The bolts are made of alpha beads (the white) and buttons. I used a permanent marker to draw on his cute lil’ mouth! I also used hot glue to attach the buttons and alpha beads to the “Spooky” bucket. And I applied a thin line of hot glue to attach my ribbon where the paper ended. Then I went a little crazy tying ribbons to Frankenbucket’s handle.

This project is so super cheap and super adorable! I had everything on hand, so I spent a total of less than $2 on the entire project (I printed my paper at Costco… I was doing another hybrid project and had room left for my paper on a 12×18). A small can of adhesive spray is about $4 at the craft store… I got mine at Michael’s using a 50% off coupon so mine was only $2. Fun and cheap… that’s how I like it! Happy crafting and I’d love to see your projects if you do them!
P.S. Yes, I am well aware that it’s technically “Frankenstein’s monster”… Frankenstein was actually the scientist… blah blah blah. BUT, “Frankenstein’s Monsterbucket” doesn’t sound nearly as cute as “Frankenbucket.” It’s my project, I’ll call it what I want. Neener neener!
lol
